Forget the car! A small insight into what you can do from Pension Wartenfels.
Walk around Lake Fuschl
The Lake Fuschl is amongst the most popular of Salzburg’s lakes. Visitors and villagers are both drawn to the clarity and deep green colour of the lake.
Ruine Wartenfels and Schober
North from Fuschl lies the Ruine Wartenfels, built in 1255. Walking time approx. 1 hr. Further along is the peak of Schober. A demanding hike requiring steady feet and no fear of heights. Walking time approx. 5 hrs, there and back.
Tip: On route to Schober, in the middle of the splendid nature, is Forsthäusl Wartenfels, where you can stop for a refreshment.
Eibensee and Höllkar
In the direction of St. Gilgen, through some meadows and in a clearing lies Eibensee, a small lake at 961 meters above sea level. From there is the path to Höllkar.
Of course there are many other walks from Pension Wartenfels. For more information ask in our house or at the tourist office.
